Smittybilt Sure-Steps for 2012 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport Double Cab

I originally purchased the Smittybilt/N-Fab nerf bars, but after a year or so I just got tired of them. Don't get me wrong those steps look great, but that's about it. The front steps on those nerf bars are too far forward making it feel quite unnatural when getting into my truck. I thought I was alone on this, but a lot of my passengers complained about the same thing. Also the step themselves sat too low. Well eventually I just stopped using the steps and so did my passengers so basically they were just there for appearance.I ordered the Smittybilt Sure-Step based on the quality I got from my previous nerf bars and I have to say it was a great decision. The Sure-Steps are beefy and look great! They cover up the chassis quite well. The steps pads are big and placed in the right places so getting into my truck is a lot easier. They were also really easy to install. You basically hand tighten everything together starting with the brackets, level everything out and make sure everything is aligned to your liking, and tighten.Bottom line: I highly recommend these steps. As stated they look great and simply work. They are tight to the body and don't stick out too much. I see some slight protection from door dings, but not a lot so if that's what you're looking for I would look elsewhere (rock sliders). They don't sag too low either like other brands do so your truck won't look like it's lower to the ground.

Ive rallied them for 2 years and there have been no problems yet. Best of all for folks in California, they arrived the day after I ordered.
