4Almost Perfect
By Derek Hofmann
I purchased this printer because I wanted something cheaper to run than my HP Deskjet (toner is much cheaper than ink), I wanted to be able to print from multiple computers and put the printer anywhere I wanted (instead of being tethered to a specific computer), I wanted the printer to be Mac-compatible, and I wanted the printer to have a duplexer to save on paper (it prints on both sides of the page). This was the only printer in its price class I could find that had all of these features. I bought the printer on sale locally and got it for a good price.I ran into one problem, which is why I'm only giving this printer only 4 stars. After I hooked it up and installed the software, I noticed that as soon as it went to sleep, it would no longer print. It's supposed to wake up when it gets a print job, but it wouldn't. I finally figured out that I needed to upgrade the network firmware from the Internet. For someone like me with experience as a PC technician, this was no problem, but I think the installation software should guide you through checking to see if everything is up to date, and help you upgrade the firmware. The paper tray only holds 300 pages, which is less than a ream of paper. At 30 pages per minute, you could run out of paper in only 10 minutes! So it may not be the ideal printer for all but the smallest office settings (but still better than an inkjet for b&w printing). However, I believe you can add an additional paper tray, and there are other models with extra paper capacity built-in.When I ran into my problem with sleep mode interfering with printing, I e-mailed Brother's technical support (they don't give you a number you can call), but I don't think a human actually reads your e-mail. It was pretty frustrating. Next time I'll try calling their customer service line and see if they can transfer me to tech support.

5Clarifying UPS problems
By Martin Unsal
I have this printer and I am very happy with it. It performs exactly as advertised, and it is very fast.I'd like to clarify the power supply issue that so many reviewers have commented on.First of all, this problem is NOT limited to users who plug their printer into the UPS. Many UPSes will detect the line voltage drop caused by this printer as a brownout and go online to protect the attached equipment. This happens even when the printer is plugged directly into the wall (as it should be). This is not just a matter of reading the instructions, it is a real problem.Whether or not you see this problem in practice depends on a number of factors, including whether the printer is plugged into the same circuit as your UPS, whether you have 15 or 20A service, how far the printer is from the breaker panel, how old your wiring is, whether your UPS has undervoltage regulation or not, etc. When this printer is heating up and printing, I have seen power draws of 900+ watts and voltages around 104 volts on recent 15A residential wiring. This did not cause my UPS to go online, however it is equipped with undervoltage regulation. Many UPSes would go online at this voltage. In any case, your mileage may vary.On a completely different note, one small drawback compared with the model it replaces (HL-5140) is that it no longer has a straight through paper path for thicker paper or envelopes to prevent curling.

4Nearly perfect
By Jay Kinney
I first saw this printer at the MacWorld Expo and I was impressed by its output, its networkability, and its price. I literally bought one the next day to replace my old HP Laserjet 4M which was finally becoming erratic.I've been very pleased in almost all respects, with just a few minor criticisms. On the one hand, it is quiet and unobtrusive in energy-saver mode. On the other, when it is sleeping there is no indication that it is still on, short of looking at the on/off button. See what I mean by minor? I didn't run into the power supply issues that another reviewer had complained about. The duplex function is handy and works well, which is something I can't say about my other printer, an HP Officejet 7310xi All-in-one, which came with a duplexer and a little notice saying that you have to do duplexing manually. The Brother's duplex function can be set as the default, which may have inadvertantly been the case where another reviewer griped about it doing the duplex shuffle, even for a single page. I've not had that problem. The only aspect that has given me a bit of trouble has been trying to print files directly from Adobe InDesign CS with clear (not screened) type. Whether it is the Brother's emulation of Postscript or its PPD or some mismatch between it and InDesign, I've not yet figured out, but I've had to do a workaround of exporting a PDF and printing from that. (And then only after turning off the "Brother Photo" mode in the Print Settings which seems to be the default for some reason.) For printing from MS Word or the Web, the printer has been speedy and flawless. So, the InDesign matter aside (for which I dock it one star), it is nifty printer for the price.

5Terrific Sound In All Environments, Taylor-Great Feel!
By G. Simon
I am a multi-genre player who does mostly finesse work, combining chording with picking, rather than strictly a strummer. The 710ce is superb at projecting the sonic nuances I try to express in my playing. Taylor's competitors don't even come close to making my music sing like that for under about $4500. Whether I'm recording into a pricey condenser mic, plugged into a PA, or just naturally unplugged, this has been my #1 favorite acoustic guitar since the day I took it home in 1998. I don't plan to replace it, but if I needed to, it would be with another 710ce.

Additionally, Max ATF is more oxidation stable than other transmission fluids for longer fluid life. Max ATF significantly reduces heat to extend the life of your transmission. More than 90 percent of all automatic transmission failures are caused by overheating, a 20 degree Farenheit reduction in fluid temperature can double the life of the transmission. Max ATF is fully compatible and can be mixed with other automatic transmission fluids, however, for the best results drain or flush the current oil and then fill with Max ATF.

5The best
By rj124104
I put this fluid in my 2004 Hyundai Tiburon against the recommendation of AAMCO transmission service. I was looking at servicing my transmission and asked if they would flush this fluid into my system. The guy I talked to tried to tell me that this was a "trick" fluid and that my car would shift very hard and it was not recommended for my car.I went against his word based on the reviews of amazon, recommendations by royal purple, and my own intuition based on product specifications. After changing my fluid to Royal Purple I can say that this has made a phenomenal difference in my car's shifting. My car was not as smooth as it is now when I bought it new 95,000 miles ago. I without a doubt would put it in my car again and will be changing in another 4 quarters in the next 30,000 miles. My car has always been a little choppy shifting since it is only a 4 speed, but with royal purple I can't even feel it shift. To think that AAMCO told me it would make my car shift hard infuriates me.I highly recommend this fluid for your vehicle if it meets specifications.Update:For anyone wondering, my transmission is still functioning perfectly fine. I haven't seen any decrease in shifting since March. Everything is just as good as when I wrote the review. I took a peak at my fluid a few days ago and it still looks and smells perfect. I still highly recommend it.

5What a great product!
By Gene Sentkowski
I drive a 1996 Chevy S-10 truck with over 200,000 miles on it and a year or so ago made the switch to Royal Purple 5W-30 motor oil. I've been more than satisfied with the results and because of this I've been wanting to change my automatic transmission fluid over to Royal Purple for quite sometime.Usually in auto parts stores, Royal Purple Max ATF runs about $13-$15/qt. However I found a case of it here on Amazon.com for an unbelieveable price, and even got free shipping with my order! I knew I needed a full case because I wanted to flush all of the old fluid out of my tranny and have soley Royal Purple inside. I found a lube change shop that would do this for me and even cut me a break on the cost of the procedure since I was supplying the fluid. I was told that usually they flush 14 quarts of fluid through a transmission to do the job, but would do it with the 12 quarts in the box. In their words, "it worked beautifully!"So far, I've been more than pleased with the results. My transmission seems a bit more responsive now, much like my engine did when I switched to Royal Purple's motor oil. I also occasionally tow a utility trailer and I'm looking forward to the extra protection this synthetic lubricant will provide against heat buildup.Next up, Royal Purple gear oil in my front and rear differentials!

5Got rid of power steering grind !!!!
By J. Conover
Most modern power steering systems use ATF fluid now. My wife's dodge caravan's power steering pump went out and I flushed the system and replaced the pump with a remanufactured one and used mopar ATF+4 fluid which was what was used at the factory, I assume. I fully bled the system and it worked great for about a week then started grinding. I bled the system again and it still had a grind. I then flushed the system again and bled it and it worked fine for about a week then started to grind again, by this time I was fed up. I was recommended by a friend who was a manager at NAPA to try Royal Purple ATF fluid as that is what they had a lot of clients use for power steering problems. It was pricey though at $15 a quart (I think I overpaid though). I bought 3 quarts and flushed the system again, but this time with the Royal Purple. I bled the system and It was noticeably different from the Mopar ATF+4 fluid. The power steering felt like a brand new vehicles' and took hardly any time to bleed the air out (a couple of turns of the wheel). It has since been a little over 6 months since the change out and not even a whine from the power steering system and it still feels great. I have been completely amazed by the Royal Purple as I thought all fluids were the same, now I want to use Royal Purple for all the fluids in the vehicle, its just the price that keeps me from doing it right now, but it was a cheap fix for the power steering problem at $45.

5Awesome Guitar
By Paul Alldredge
I bought a Taylor 515ce used. It was in flawless condition and the sound from this guitar is simply amazing. The name "Grand Auditorium" says it all. If you can afford it get one of these guitars and you won't regret it. It is truly an heirloom quality instrument. You don't see that many on the used market and the ones you do find are in great condition. The quality and sound from this guitar is second to none.Just a note to add... wood guitars don't like dry climate. Keep your home in the range of 45% relative humidity. your guitar will love it and you will breathe easier too.

I just recently began playing again after many years of not playing. This guitar is so easy to play and the sound is awesome in finger picking and strumming. It's amazing after playing for weeks on end, this guitar stays in tune. Great resonance and sustain. Plugged in, it still sounds like an acoustic!!

5Doesn't get any better
By Daniel Limbach
I performed an exhaustive search for the right mono laser printer. I landed the Brother HL-5250DNT, and I couldn't be happier. Here's what I was looking for during my search.1) Speed (first page and pages per minute)2) Image quality3) Economic consumables4) Connectivity (USB and parallel minimum, networkable a plus)5) Expandability6) Duplex printing a big plus7) Size - nothing too huge8) QuietHere's what I got.1) I am amazed at how fast this printer is. It prints the first page almost immediately. Wakes up from sleep mode instantly and prints quickly. Great PPM speed.2) Excellent quality text and graphics. Photos print out very well with no banding.3) Toner cartridge has good page rating (3,500 @ 5%) and replacements are relatively inexpensive. High yield cart is about $50 for 7,000 pages @ 5%.4) Comes with USB, parallel, and Ethernet - the triple play5) Expandability - it already comes with a second paper tray (about $50 more than the model without the tray. Separately, the tray is about $120) Holds an amazing 550 pages. Also accepts up to 512MB additional memory in easy access slot.6) I fell in love with duplex printing. I keep duplex on all the time. Cuts paper use almost in half (some printouts have odd number of pages to print).7) Nice footprint. Fits nicely on desktop. Solid, but not very heavy.8) Zero noise in sleep mode. Much quieter than my Minolta when printing. Love it.I was impressed at how easy it was to set up. Load the Vista drivers (yes, a Vista CD is included), plug in the printer, and you're golden. Printed flawlessly the first time. Setup program let me designate the second paper tray. Just make sure you load the CD before you hook up the printer. Lots of flexibility with setup options. Driver/utilities do not take up a large amount of disk space. Much better than HP software clogging up the system.Regarding page curl, I am using a basic 20lb paper (Boise) and the page curl is marginal. Definitely not annoying. In fact, lie the paper flat after printing, and it flattens out quickly. Very slight curl on premium 24lb paper (Hammermill). If you need to print large docs, this printer is definitely a workhorse. Over several years, the price difference between this and a "personal" laser printer will be insignificant. Go with the solid workhorse and don't look back.

4Networking Brother HL-5250DNT
By Larry M. Kohse
First printer I received would not feed from second tray, emailed Amazon.com and they sent me a whole new printer pronto, excellent service. The new printer worked fine from both trays. Quite easy to set up printer and network, easy to install on all work-stations, works well though sensitive to cheaper laser paper, but very easy to fix paper jams. Very good value for money. Would buy another one.

3Fast, but flawed
By James K. Kim
I was looking for a fast, reliable, networkable printer with duplexing. This Brother HL seemed to fit the bill perfectly. However, after using it for awhile, I would have bought another printer. It is really fast, and prints jobs quickly with little or no delay. But, it has bad paper curl after the first 20 prints. I've tried several thicknesses of paper, but it continues to output curled pages after it heats up.Also, it has a manual feed that only accepts about 15-20 pages, what a pain! I wouldn't need the manual feed as much if it would actually duplex pages, but the manual informed me (after my purchase, of course) that duplexing only works in a Windows environment. Oh well.In Sum, this is a fast, inexpensive printer with adequate output quality, but the curl, manual feed, and duplexing issues are problematic.

Learn About the Taylor Guitars 110 Model

The Taylor 110 is a superb option for the budget-minded guitarist or an “extra” guitar for the seasoned player, the 110 has an extremely rich and versatile voice.

Dreadnought Guitars: A Taylor Tradition the Taylor 110 Continues

Bob Taylor launched his career crafting Dreadnoughts and Jumbos, working with shapes he inherited from Sam Radding, the owner of the American Dream guitar shop, where he and Taylor co-founder Kurt Listug got their start. "Our dreadnought early on was pretty boxy, and the Jumbo was kind of a big square thing, too — kind of the American Dream take on the J200 or the big Guild stuff, back in the ’70s,” Bob recalls. In 2003, the dreadnought underwent a major revoicing to give it a more competitive identity among flatpickers. A cannon, it boasted 50 percent more volume and a stronger bass response, and yielded a potent growl when players dug in without upsetting Taylor’s sonic balance. The Taylor Dreadnought delivers a vintage dreadnought sound for the 21st Century.

5Best in Class
By JoshuaRM
Summary: This is a great mid-level acoustic. Good finish, very resistant to fingerprints so it looks nice. The solid sitka spruce top gives a good tone. Very nice for an acoustic guitar under $1,000. For the price, it's a definite "best in class".Sound: It is very adaptable to all styles of music. It lends itself well to anything from acoustic rock, jazz, blues, country, etc.The 10 works well with most techniques (i. e. hammers and pulls, bends, vibrato, etc). It's easy to form bar chords on the neck. It has very good resonance and tone. It's not very good for slide guitar, though, because it loses sound quality with any tuning that involves notes more than half a step away from standard. So, It works well with Eb tuning, but not so much for Drop D, Drop Db, etc. DADGad sounds alright, though. If you just play it normally (standard tuning, no slide), it has great sound quality, especially compared to other brands in the same price range. For their lowest model, it carries all of Taylor's quality.Reliability & Durability: The hardware is good, but you might have to adjust the tuning mechanism (the screws in the keys) to adjust the tension you want on the keys. Personally, I like tighter keys to keep the mechanisms in place better. The strap buttons are very good and have held up well thus far (about 6 months). The finish is durable and holds up well to rougher/faster playing styles. It has stayed completely on and looks brand new.Impression: This is a great guitar. If you are looking for a mid-level guitar and don't want to have to get a new one in 5 years, this is your best bet. Believe me, I shopped all the big brands and this was easily the best. I play lots of different music, mainly I would say "acoustic punk", folk/rock, most of it involves lots of strumming or complex picking patterns. It works well with everything that I play on it. My favorite thing is the slim neck, which makes it easy to bar and to navigate. I looked at Ibanez, Fender, Epiphone, Takamine, Dean, and most other big brands before I bought it and this was easily the best choice judging by sound and play quality.

5Look no further!
By MojoJoe13
You cannot find a better sounding guitar for the price. Period. I had been a faithful Alvarez player for 10 years. I found this guitar at a shop in Corpus Christi and fell in love with it. It has a well balenced tone; crisp high end with clear low end. The over all action was a bit higher than I liked, but the work out is well worth the sound.

5Money well spent
By Charles W. Quenichet
A very good guitar. I have several inexpensive guitars that I like very well and some that I really hate. After going to guitar center and playing all the guitarsup to 1500.00 I went on craig's list and found one of these for 450.00 with a gig bag, capo, tuner and stand. I had to shop around some and had to wait a couple of weeks but it was worth it. The only guitar I found (in the price range)that I liked better for general tone and playability was a 1200.00 all wood Martin. The action on the guitar is slightly tight, but as stated in earlier reviews, the crisp, consistent tone is worth it. Also I notice mine does not have stamped Taylor tuners, which leads me to believe that the stock tuners are not Taylor tuners. It does seem to slip out of tune a bit, but if I have to spend 44.00 bucks on a set of 18:1 Taylors I don't mind. I recorded a demo of a song I wrote on it and was very pleased with the depth of tone. I would not recommend putting a pickup inside an acoustic guitar for recording purposes, as you will never get the purity of sound you would from a microphone, So this guitar does for me what any of the higher end Taylors will do for the most part. I wish I had started out 25 years ago with a guitar this good. I might be a better guitarist. It will do the same for you, I bet.

5Not just for Bimmers
By J.
If you have a 6 speed (NSG370) TJ or JK Wrangler, you should switch to this as soon as possible. You will get smoother shifting, and less metal shavings (wear) stuck to the magnetic drain plug. Been running this in my Wrangler for 30,000 miles now. It's as easy as an oil change. You need 14mm and 17mm hex sockets. One is for the drain plug and one is for the fill plug. You can squirt it in the tranny using the bottle. When it starts oozing out of the fill hole, you can put the plug back in. You'll need 2 bottles (1.6 liters).Don't forget to also change your diff fluid regularly (every 2-4 oil changes). If you're lazy you can just pump the old fluid out, but I recommend taking the diff cover off and doing a thorough cleaning with some brake cleaner, towel, etc. To do that you need four liters of Mobile 1 75w90. Remove the diff cover bolts, then hit it with a soft hammer (rubber/plastic) until it falls off. Use a razor to scrape the old gasket material off of the diff and diff cover. Be careful not to scrap the metal. Clean everything well with some brake cleaner. Squirt a nice bead of black gasket maker around the diff cover, then reinstall it. Tighten in a star pattern to get a uniform seating. Don't overtighten it. Allow it to dry, then fill it just like you did with the tranny. You might need a small pump though if your Jeep isn't lifted enough.

5Royal purple is awesome!
By badger
I never thought that changing the manual transmission oil in my BMW 330i to synchromax would make any difference. Unbelievable difference in the smoothness of shifting! I will definitely use more of their products in the future!

5RP synchromax rocks! better than redline
By ///m fan
I have used redline in my M3's transmission for few months, but there was a major difference in shifting after replacing transmission fluid with RP synchromax. Gears are alot smoother and easier to shift even with a short shifter. I will try other RP products in the future for sure.

5BEST VALUE OUT THERE!
By TamaSC
Needed a new throne and I saw this one here on Amazon, I thought why not. I was about to spend ~$160 on a high end one (pork pie, dw, etc.) then I saw this one for almost half that...it's a no brainer. It's got everything you need in a drum throne without a ridiculous price tag. Threaded height adjustment, military grade legs and hardware (super thick and heavy), and it's really comfy, what more could you ask for. Bottomline is I wanted a rock solid throne that is comfy with threaded height adjustment and I got just that....for half the price of what I expected to pay. Sure it's not too fancy looking and doesn't have an super thick padded seat with sparkles and zebra print but it's strong and wont creep down when you play...that's all that matters. On top of that Amazon came through, as always, with LIGHTNING fast shipping, it was at my door the NEXT DAY!

3Great base, sub par seat
By o m r
The base has lasted me years of almost daily gig use (possibly 7 yrs?). Couldn't be better. The seat hoever has a terrible cushion that almost immediately began to lose it's firmness and ends up sinking several inches within 10 min. of use. I'd start feeling like I'm sitting on an angle and have to constantly either turn the seat or adjust the height, or both. I replaced the seat with a Pearl seat. Pearls seat fits perfectly on the Gibraltar base and the cushion stays firm nearly the whole set. Unfortunately I couldn't find the Pearl seat by itself and had to buy the whole throne Pearl D1000SP Roadster Throne with Spring Post, but I prefer the Gibraltar base and never take the Pearl base out of the house. The Pearl base is cheaply made despite it appearing to be heavy-duty, is the opposite of road worthy. When I first got it, I was impressed with the qiuck release height adjustment and bought one for a club I play at regularly. Granted, this club presents 2 bands a night 7 days a week, but the Pearl base was destroyed within a couple of weeks. Not just the tightening hardware, but the base itself was completely falling apart. The seat is still in great shape and is still being used at the club with a generic brand simple design heavy-duty throne base... I'm confident the Gibraltar base would have the same lifespan as well. They do sell the Gibraltar base by itself if you already have or can find a superior seat. Gibraltar Throne Base Double Braced

5Excellent for me & my guitar
By E. Johnson
I purchased this to use with an Acoustic Guitar at home. I am 6'1", 190 lbs. It is easy to put together (5 mins or less). It is well constructed and very sturdy. It is very comfortable and you can adjust the seat height. Make sure you purchase or own a drum key (a four dollar item), as you will need it and it does not come with one in the box. Since i received it and put it together, i can comfortably play for 2 hours at a time while playing at home.

5Nothing to complain about
By Thomas JAM
It's exactly what I expected. A great motor to run a chicken plucker. Mine is attached to a 10:1 gear reducer and does a hell of a job getting all the feathers off my chickens. I'm an amazon fan. It was easier to order over here than directly from the company.

4High Quality - not made in the USA
By Robert A. Boston
Everyone who attends a festival will see 90% of the drummers that can afford them use DW. And the quality is high. But it really bothers me when American companies seem to trade on the "Made in USA" quality, but manufacture in Taiwan.I could be wrong, but I thought I used to buy DW products that were made in the USA, but although I never see anywhere on their site, or ads, or specs where they make their products. When you receive them, be ready to learn that you just sent part of your cash overseas.I used to live in Germany and Germans by nature almost always buy German made products. Good for them. There is nothing wrong with being patriotic and taking care of your own.So if you like DW for what they are, buy them. If you, like I do, like to support my country, try looking elsewhere. And the practice of deceit in the music industry is getting rediculous. "Designed in the US", "Engineered in the US" - Code for "Not made in the USA". I looked at an amp from a big US company that prominantly displayed all of their ties to America, but nearly had to dissassemble the product before finding the "Made in China" sticker. Do your homework before opening your wallet.

Great product. Work like a champ as DW stated. Heavy duty and no issues whatsoever. DW the only serious choice!

5It is worth the weight!
By Philip Ellis
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/RMPXX2VDDNAW6 I've mostly used cymbal stands that I found on Craigslist, but today I've become a new man! These are by far the best cymbal stands I've ever had the privilege to own. Yes they are heavy, but they are "worth the weight" because of all the other amazing features. Do yourself a favor and get 3 of them (like I did!)

5Where's your jacket?
By Katarzyna Chojna
Sometimes I need less than a whole computer bag. I've always hated the fact that to go anywhere with my laptop, I'd have to grab it's entire bag - even if the only thing I was carrying was my cell phon, adapter, and laptop. Fortunately, I found this product. I can go from meeting to meeting with just the essentials. Which makes me more efficient, and gets me to meetings faster, which gives me that promotion over Bob who's still using that large bulky bag.

5Sleek and well designed. I feel cool when I use this bag (but I'm not)
By Michael MacDonald
I bought this bag as an alternate/temporary bag before I got a really heavy duty bag for my 17" MacBook Pro.It was even better looking in person than it was online...cool surprise! I am particularly fond of the bright green color of the inside of the bag, but thats personal preference (I love lime green). The bag fits the 17" MacBook Pro very well, with a little bit of breathing room. I suspect that someone with a Speck Clear Case (Speck MB17-CLR-SEE See Thru 17-Inch MacBook Pro Hard Case (Clear)) wouldn't have any trouble fitting it in there. The power adapter and a mouse just barely fit into the cargo net area on this bag (which is under the flap and gets buckled in for safety. The only complaint I have with this bag is this: I am a fast walker, and the bag tends to bounce on my hip when I walk. I have tried swinging it around to the back, but the same effect happens. The only way I've found to solve this is holding the bag down with a hand. This may be a personal issue as I do walk faster than about 95% of the population.Pros: Very cool looking, well built, fits 17" MBP very well, reasonable priceCons: Fast walkers will sound like a giant wearing sandals

Probably the best and most compact protect I have seen for my Mac. I had one for my 15" model and now I bought one for my 17" MacBook pro as well. Excellent quality and extra pockets for small stuff.
