Perfect for high light aquarium plants.

I've started replacing all my T5s and T8s systems with this light on 55 gallon aquariums. All my tanks are heavily planted with high to low light needs. This light has been outstanding for my plant growth and colors. The replacement bulbs are a bit more expensive than 5s and 8s but last much longer without dimming with age. High output LEDs are just too expensive and still don't match the quality of this lighting system. I've bought three of these system and all have performed fantastic.

CL 20" aqualight 96w pc strip

This light is the perfect size for my 30 cube tank, This size and type is hard to find and my plants are loving the 3watts per gallon I'm getting. This light does penetrate the deeper tank well and looks very stylish. Very glad I found it.

Fans are a little noisy, but amazing light coverage

I bought this for a very tall 55g hexagon shaped tank. This tank requires a lot of light penetration but leaves little room for the typical sized fixtures for this volume of water. This size was perfect for the top of the tank, and left enough room to place a second fixture of this size on top if I decided to get some high maintenance flora. The color spectrum is as advertised, on the blue end of daylight. Great for freshwater.I only have two criticisms. First, as mentioned, the fans are noisy. Far more so than the canister filter I'm using, which sits outside of my tank stand. Secondly, and this may be due to the seller (MarineandReef), there was no documentation included. I would have at least enjoyed seeing some warranty information.Overall, a very good product, and I would buy again.

Happy overall, but here are some details

Overall I'm happy with this unit.It is very clean-looking and seems to be reasonably well-made. It's a big improvement over the ugly plastic unit I had before.I especially like having the dual cords and being able to put them on separate timers. And with both bulbs on, it's like high noon in there.But here are some details that I would like to have known before ordering:1. The fans are audible even from 10' away, and I do wish they were quieter. In a quiet room I notice them over the noise of my filter and pump. With music or TV on I don't notice them.2. The fans come on only when the front strip is on. So turning on only the rear light will not turn on the fans. From the product sheet, this is by design, intended for the case where the rear strip is used for a moon lamp (which is not how this product is configured as sold).Since the single-strip version of this product doesn't have a fan, I guess that running only the rear strip should not cause overheating. But if the fan is only necessary when both bulbs are blazing, I wish they had configured it that way. Or better yet provided a switch for the fan between on-for-both-bulbs or on-for-either-bulb.3. Each bulb is a Coralife 34" 6700K, 96 Watt, dual-tube-type compact flourescent with a square-pin connector. Replacements are costly, in the range of $38-$50/bulb as of Nov. 2006.4. Measured with a P3 Kill-A-Watt meter, the unit consumes only 82W with just the front bulb on, and 158W with both bulbs on. I'm not sure why the power consumption isn't at least 2x96=192W?5. Each bulb is held in its metal retaining clips by two silicone (heat-proof) rubber bands. I had one band break in shipping along with a bulb, and another band broke during careful handling while replacing the broken bulb. I don't know where to get new silicone bands, and none were included in the replacement bulb package. This is a weak point for the product, but so far the bandless bulb has stayed in its clip.6. The product has a 12-month limited warranty from the distributor (not the retailer). Since there's no information on expected bulb life, it's not immediately clear whether this warranty covers the bulbs.Despite the detractions noted, it's a very nice improvement to my aquarium.

Long Lasting Pump When Maintained

I've had these in various sizes, from a tiny fountain pump to the 1800 gph, all the same simple design. They have gotten rather pricey but you do get a rugged, reliable pump for your money. They work well, are surprisingly small (but heavy), and last a long time if you 1) always use a pre-filter of some kind, 2) keep the pre-filter from clogging, and 3) never forget to clean the impeller before storing the pump (see below). My only and very slight criticism of the Pondmaster 1800 is that the discharge is rather small for a pump of this flow rate.If you shut down your pump for the winter make sure to disassemble and clean it: Remove the impeller housing, carefully pull the impeller out of the motor (it's held in the motor magnetically so you need to pull it out firmly) and clean everything carefully so there is no grit or pond crud on the impeller or inside the motor housing (I use a tooth brush). Neglecting to clean it can result in the pump binding up just long enough to snap the ceramic shaft when you try to start the pump after it has been in storage. Pump warranties don't cover the impeller--- currently ~$27 for the 1800.

Fantastic pump

This pump has power. It's quiet and really moves water. The included inlet screen is nice. I thought I was going to have to buy one separately. Since it's a mag drive unit, it's more energy efficient than other pumps of similar capacity.

A bit deceiving

This pump claims 1800 gph, but on the box at 0' it states 1500gph. Had they rated it 1500gph, I would have purchased the next size up. The other thing is, I had bought it to fit into my filter box, and with the screen basket attached it is a bit big. The pump is a quiet pump and I am happy with the pump itself. A shorter wider screen would be nice as well.

Awesome case for a ceramic drum...a bit too much protection for an aluminum, steel, wood or any other non-fragile substance drum. I am real glad I have it for my ceramic one though. It has taken some licks and still survived.

Great table

This table is very well made and sturdy. I bought it to go by my couch because I was tired of hitting myself on the corner of our square table. We have it placed on carpeting and it doesn't wobble or feel delicate. It was made to have objects of reasonable weight on it and the lower tier is a bonus for space.

great for pool deck

Beautiful to look at and sit in. I wanted furniture for our pool deck so it couldn't take up much room which was a difficult search. These chairs and table fit the bill perfectly. Just the exact size and with the look of the richer, much more expensive outdoor wicker weaves. Better than expected and I am more than satisified with this furniture.

Good pump for the money

The RIO HF series of pumps is an excellent value. I just replaced my old RIO 20HF with a new one after several years of faithful service. They run quietly, have low energy consumption and can push a large volume of water.Sure there are better pumps, but those are going to cost you quite a bit more money. It is really hard to beat the value of these pumps especially considering the amount of use I got out of them.My only real negative is that these pumps do seem to give off quite a bit of heat into the water. I don't have anything to compare this against though.Overall, I have been very pleased with all the RIO pumps that I have owned.

Extremely Powerful pump!

I use this pump to do water changes in my aquarium.I do around a 30% water change in my 110g tank every other day and I use to siphon the water out which would take quite some time. I need the pump to push water 10' through a 1" ID hose, the distance from my aged water barrels to my tank, which the tops sits 5'6" from the floor.This made a process that use to take me over an hour to do, siphoning the water then using a weak pump that claimed 700+ gph, now takes me less than 15 min. Pump the water out, then pump the water in.Super quick and efficient!

Problem occured after only one month...

Good lighting fixture except for one problem. After one month one of the LED moon lights has lost its intensity. It still comes on but it is not very bright and I have no idea how to replace it or even if I will be able to find a replacement bulb.

Perfect CLF for my aquarium

I've had this clf for about a year. I've had no problems with it and it's made an enormous difference in my corals. The lunar lights are cool too! I never knew some much "other" activity went on at night. Now I can watch that activity without disturbing the contents of my tank.
