Lots of Fun!

This kite is very fun to fly. It's well constructed, fairly easy to put together and easy to fly. If you set the bridle to its challenging settings it responds very fast. It needs a decent wind to fly - more like 5 - 6 mph rather than the 3 mph advertised, but it pulls strongly in a moderate wind and will give you a very good workout.The only negative I experienced is with the line that is included. It is only sleeved at one end and a strong gust of wind will cause it to break at the end that is not sleeved. I suggest sleeving the other end or buying pre-sleeved line before you fly it.

FUN FUN FUN!!!

2011: i picked this kite up in time for Memorial Day from Air Traffic for $99.99. Like other reviews this kite will not stay up in 4-5mph winds. I've flown it in a 9mph wind, 12mph gusts) in an open field with a smooth wind stream. In no time I was doing snap stalls flipping it on it's back and recovering. I was able to steer it toward the edge of the wind window and make it hover in a trick I coined an "UFO", which I turned into a side-slide. This kite is very responsive, easy to fly, and FUN! In a stiff breeze this kite pulls HARD on the Strong Wind setting. Only when I flew it in sustained 18 - 25mph wind with a 37mph gust did a line break where it joins to the sleeved area. I've also crashed it into a steel soccer goal on it's maiden flight and then into the ground hard and it sustained NO DAMAGE! IMO there is no other kite that can compare to the Quantum's DURABILITY and FUN!2012: After more use frequent line breakage became a serious buzzkill. I upgraded to 220lb 110ft Dyneema line as a Christmas present. I finally got it out in March 2012 in a steady 20mph wind gusting to 30mph. I weigh 205lbs and the pull created by the Quantum's 7ft wingspan drug me 5ft upon sitting down! The pull on the lines was unreal from this little triangle 110 ft in the air. The tension on the lines was making them sing in the wind like a light sabre... what a SHOW! The only reason I stopped was that the Quantun's unpadded wrist straps were cutting off the circulation and feeling in my hands. I was relieved when I steered it out of the wind window and landed without incident. After the line upgrade the Quantum is a Beast On A Leash! This is a kite that'll grow with your abilities! My advice: buy one, upgrade the lines, hang on for dear life, and carry a change of underwear!

This was so much fun!!

I highly recommend this kite. If you've never flown a 2 lined kite before, this one makes an excellent introduction. It comes with everything you need - kite, instructions, lines and straps. You're up and flying in about 5 minutes! The kite doesn't pull too hard or move to fast, and the best part is that you can really feel like you're in control. (this is the problem with most cheaper kites sold at the beach) This kite flies best in winds from about 5mph up to 15mph or so. The construction/build quality is fantastic and I had no problems with mine even after bashing it into the ground many times.Get one of these and you'll have a blast!
