Very Nice Clock

I bought the River City Clocks English Tambour Clock with Oak Finish and Four Different Chimes - 10 Inches Tall - Model # 3104O as a gift for my husband who constantly loses track of time. The clock has a number of different chime options to suit a variety of tastes. This includes the type of chime and how often you hear it. You can control the volume, but the lowest setting is still fairly loud, but since you can adjust other settings, it's not really a problem. The design looks nice and is well-made. My husband is a master carpenter who is usually very picky and he likes the way it looks. The internal clock mechanisms are modern and use two "c" batteries. I would've liked an option to plug it into a wall, but it does not have one.The chimes can be turned off at night. The night shut off is from 11 p.m. until 5:45 a.m. I would've preferred to be able to set my own times, but that does not seem to be an option. I have the clock set to go off hourly, so the first chime is at 6 a.m. This woke me up for the first few days, but I am used to it now and it never bothers me or my husband anymore.Overall, we really like this clock, and it has accomplished what we were hoping for which was to help both my husband and I keep track of the time. If you want a more detailed description of the clock, go to River City Clocks website, and it has more specific information. I gave this four stars because it is a very nice clock, but there are just a very areas as mentioned that could be improved upon, but I would recommend buying it to anyone who wants a mantel clock.

Beautiful clock with wonderful chimes

I bought this clock as a present for my wife. She loves the style and has it in a prominent place in our living room. We love the chimes and the options to change the chime styles to suit your taste. It works perfectly and adds to our home decor in a good way.

Nice clock

Very nice clock for the price. ALthough it has the look of real wood, it is not, but it still looks very nice. I enjoy the fact this clock has a feature to turn off any sound - in case you do not want to hear any of the chimes, but it is overall a very nice clock.

First thing my husband said "like gramma's grandfather clock." It is very beautiful. The exterior of the clock looks rich without the weight. We like the tones and the option to turn it off at night. Well worth the money. :) However it is a little difficult to program. It took me three tries to get the night option.

Just perfect - Incredible tonal quality and finish.

I must admit I was apprehensive buying a clock that was quartz (battery) operated and hoping for a great sound with the music and chimes, especially since I have a REAL grandfather clock right in the same room, that I built myself in 1981 from a kit. I was and still am AMAZED at the deep rich tonal quality of this clock, it sounds so realistic, even right down to the reverberation and echo ! My wife also loves the style and finish, and it was just what I wanted for my empty mantel. Of course the quartz movement keeps perfect time, unlike my schoolhouse key-wound clock which I've been adjusting the speed for 2 years, and it's never right!!!IT even looks nicer than the photos !! The face of the clock is like an off-white (linen-white) which gives it an antique look !! I love the chime off at night optional feature, and the fact that you can have various chime options, including 3 Christmas chimes for the holidays. A lot of thought and great engineering went into this reasonably priced well made timepiece.It will surprise you.... in a good way !!!

Solid, high quality speaker

Recently upgraded my receiver and wanted to clean up my home theater space so I decided to get rid of my bookshelf speakers and mount something in the wall. Having always been a fan of Yamaha, I took a look at their in-wall line and liked the look of the 760s and 960s. Specs were very similar between their single-woofer models and the duals and I thought that I'd like the look of the duals a bit more; and for slightly more ($20 per speaker) the 960s add 20W of power and have Kevlar woofers, which I am hoping may last a little longer than the coated paper.Have had them for several months now so they've had time to break in, and these are nice, natural-sounding speakers. I listen to music CDs or concert DVDs more than movies and, when in pure stereo mode, these 960s have a very life-like staging. If you have a passive subwoofer or one with relatively low power, you may want to opt for an 8-inch single-woofer model, like the Polk MC85, that will give you a deeper response; if you have a decent sub and need your fronts to concentrate on the mids and highs, the 960s should be quite pleasing. And with handling of 150W, they can fill a decent sized room with no problem.As far as installation, these were a breeze. Supplied is a template - simply trace it and cut out your drywall. Attach your speaker wire to the binding posts, press the speaker into the hole and tighten the 6 screws. And if you're painting them before installation, Yamaha includes a plastic tray that fits snuggly into the groove where the grill fits - just put that in place and spray paint the frames, and do the grills as well. I'd suggest spraying both sides of the grill to make sure you've covered the inside of the holes. I matched them to my wall color and they blend into the decor nicely; if you'd rather paint them black to compliment your flat-screen monitor, I'm sure that would look great as well.In all, the 960s are a solid flush-mount speaker. Good power, nice sound and simple installation. Decent buy at $199 each, but a great buy from Amazon at under $100 each.

Yamaha NS-IW960 In-Wall Speaker

This is an awesome speaker as a whole. It serves as my center channel directly below my 50" Panasonic plasma. The sound quality is very good. Installation was easy if you are technically inclined. This speaker was a bit longer than other LCR speakers I looked at in this price range. I decided to go with it partially for that reason (so it wouldn't look so small under the tv). I hand painted the trim in less than 10" with a brush. The grill took two coats with a home depot handheld sprayer (cartridge type, $10). The paint was diluted with water at least 10 fold. If a whole fills with paint simply blow on it to pop it out. The speaker is visible, but blends right into the wall. Given the inexspensive price and all of this, I couldn't be more pleased.

great center channel

First let me start by saying this thing sounds great. The bad thing is most houses have 16" stud spacing. If you are actually constructing a room, plan for this. You'll need 24" stud spacing. Now, if this fits the bill and you're able to fit this, you'll love it. The clarity is excellent. You hear every bit of what you should with a center channel. The dual kevlar woofers are well built, the tweeter is crisp, construction quality is top notch, and the grill is elegantly curved versus flat. I didn't use the "glue" to hold the grill on. It stays on without the mess. The color, like most in wall or in ceiling speakers, is more off white, so don't expect brilliant white. I gave it a 4 star because of the width restriction.

Amazing Quality and Sound!

First of All let me say i received these speakers very fast and in great packaging. Upon opening the factory sealed box the speakers were packed laterally standing on there sides rather than flat. FIRST thing I did when examining the speakers was to loosen the wall retaining clips( PLEASE DO THIS FIRST, IF YOU DONT THEY WILL BREAK ON INSTALLATION). installation into the walls were as easy as i thought possible. I did stuff the walls with polyfill before the final securing of the speaker.Sound= these things sound great! Frequency response is very wide ( from 20khz-down to about 65hz). Midbass is strong, highs are vibrant and audible without harshness. Crossover is huge, oversized, and built with quality( I have the high Fq set at a -2 and sound is well balanced.Look= Speakers profile is not low at all, I would say its mid-profile. Since the grill has some 3-dimensional curves to it, I think it gives it a nice look and it compliments its surrounding. Once painted and fully finished these speakers look great.Subwoofer? It really depends on your music taste. Speaking for my self, I think these speakers are good enough to give you the option to add a subwoofer or Not! They played extremely well on all music genres except Rap music.With that said from my consumer point of view. Well worth the cost and the gamble on yamaha, a lesser known high-quality in wall speaker maker.Posted a few Pics

Solid Product

I installed the Yamaha NS-IW660 speakers about two months ago and I'm very satisfied with the product. They sound great and easily handle any volume level that I throw at them. Just in the last week, I upgraded my receiver and that made them sound even better so don't blame the speakers if you have a cheap receiver. My old receiver was 5.1 so I was using them for the rear channel but my new receiver is 7.1 so I am now using them for the side channels. The way the room is situated, they were better positioned for the side channel anyway. I now am using some speakers that came with my old receiver for the rear channel but I would like to get another set of the 660's for the rear eventually. They look great mounted in the wall. I painted them using a sponge paint brush and it was pretty time consuming but worth it. I had difficulty keeping the paint from filling in the holes in the grills but kept working on it and they turned out good. The directions recommend spraying the paint on and I do have a sprayer but it seemed like a pain to get the sprayer out just for that. If I get another pair though, I may spray them. We just built our house and moved in about six months prior so I had the wall paint available so the paint on the speakers matches the walls exactly. One the grills are in place they are somewhat difficult to remove. I used a corkscrew for opening a wine bottle and just hooked it one of the holes in the grill and it came off fairly easily that way.

Great speakers

I got Yamaha IW660 for the surrounding speakers of my home theater (23X12X7 F) in 7.1 set up last year. Building quality is very good. They look nice and heavier than I expected. With template supplied with package, installation was easy. Power listing for these speakers are 150 w maximum, which is higher than many speakers in the same class. Three way drivers is a bright point that make these speakers spacial. I was so supprised to hear such rich and clear highs from them, better than most of similar products. I hooked them up with a 7.1 Pioneer Elit VSX-21TXH that has 110 w in each channel, then cranked the volume up to the level that may cause physical discomfort. They handle it very well and no distortion found. I bought the first pair for side surrounding. Since they worked so well, I got the second pair for back surrounding. I did not expect too much bass from any in-wall speaker in a similar class. Yamaha has a reasonable one. For home theater, a good subwoof is a must any way.In summary, IW660 is a great speaker with quality compatable with other high reputated in-wall speakers. As for price, it is a best buy, and there is no beat. I highly recommend it.

A Great Pond Pump

After having this same Rio 26HF pump for a few years of 24/7 use, it would not restart after a power outage. I ordered this again because it has been a very good pump. I love the fact that Amazon gives me the option of free shipping, or in this case, fast shipping for a fair price. It has great flow for a Koi pond. You just need to size the pump for the number of gallons in your pond. For a Koi pond, if you want to keep the water clear, you will need a higher flow rate pump like this one.

The RIO 26HF is a great pump. I previously owned A hf 20 but have made SOME CHANGES TO MY POND AND NEEDED MORE WATER FLOW. THE HF26 MEETS THE REQUIREMENT AND WORKS BETTER THAN ANY OTHER PUMP I HAVE OWNED. You cannot beat the price and they are cheaper to run than the other pumps available. Would purchase this pump again.

One of the best on the market.

This skimmer ROCKS!!! Most lower end skimmers need a week to begin producing skimmate-- this produced thick coffee-dark sludge within minutes of being plugged in. It's super easy to adjust, has a big enough collection cup to prevent you from having to fiddle with it every few hours, and it produces NO microbubbles. Since my 75g QT tank was filthy, the water was turning opaque, and the walls were covered in algae, I set it up and had it run very wet. I sent the built in overflow (vacation-safe!) tubing out to a gallon jug It was fill in two days with dark sludge, and the water was crystal clear.It isn't perfect, but it's close enough and you save $500 on the price of the perfect one.After using 5 other skimmers for various other tanks, I'm stuck on this one. I have the 220g version running on my 75QT tank, and will make room for it on my main tank when my fish are out of QT. This works so well, it precludes my need for an RO/DI unit, as it pulls out all brown silicate algae as well.

New style skimmer

Okay just being clear the new style skimmer I think is much better than the old one: I recently purchased the 125 model and it is being used on a 110 gallon FOWLR system as a HOB skimmer: It does not come with the best instructions but at the same time it's not hard to get running: I washed the unit before I put it in the tank to get the plastic film from production off the entire unit: Just warm water and a very small amount of vinegar in the kitchen sink: It started producing within an acouple of days: I must say it does sound a little noisy at first but mine did become quiter after about a week: I tried it first with the large round black sponge on the discharge tube and it worked: It just was to close the lights in my tank and started having some micro algea grow on it: I removed it and have not put it back on: adjustment of the skimmer is quite easy to me: Just turn the red knob till the bubbles are where you want them: Took about a week of fine adjustments to really get it working like I wanted: Micro bubbles were more than usual in the first two weeks, but have been reduced to near nothing: I did shorten the supplied tubing so the pump would sit closer to the input of the nozzle: it comes with two lengths so you can use HOB or sump setup: Large collection cup with a drain plug is nice for the price: Only compliant was the pump: In the user manual coralife recommends a 650-750gph pump for best operation: The pump shipped with is a 2000L/hr unit that converts to 528 GPH. I have not decided yet to upgrade the pump at my expense or not: But even with that said it does produce a huge amount of micro bubbles inside the skimmer and it still works: Overall not a bad skimmer for the price range: and it also comes with a tube silencer for the air intake whice is very noisy without it: I also noticed you need to tighten the collection cup down pretty tight because the grove the O-ring sits on is deep.

Good Product with Good manufacturer warranty support

The amount of skim the first week was amazing to see it working. I did have a skimmer from Instant Ocean and it was crap compared to this unit. Coralife's Bubble production from the motor is great. I did have a problem two weeks into running... the motor starting making noise. It was the plastic housing holding the motor shaft in place, was cracked. I removed the cracked part of the housing so that it was wouldn't fall loose into the motor causing more damage and decide to sill run it. Called their customer service and a new housing would be replaced, no hassle, no questions asked other than name and address.
