5Sonically Superb
By modwiz
I have this speaker, the 10" in my Super Champ X2 amp. People are astounded by the sound coming from this little amp. Great articulation, with the extra harmonics that only come from an alnico speaker. This speaker is currently fifty dollars less than it was a few weeks ago. It is worth the money. This speaker sounds better to me than the 12" model. This is a special speaker and I think it has a superior bottom end than the Celestion alnicos which cost more. Other 10" upgrades improve the sound of the various OEM speakers amps. Fender being a big one. This speaker will do more than improve your sound, it will transform it. Your amp will not only produce excellent tone and delicious complimentary harmonics, it will sound like a bigger amp. At 102.1 dB sensitivity it is one of the loudest of speakers. What is big beautiful voice it is too.

5Great Speaker Replacment
By Thumper
I ordered this speaker to replace a 15" speaker in a Dietz bass cab (basically a TL-606) that blew an SWR speaker that was in it when I bought it. The 3015 is a much superior speaker than the stock SWR and made a very heavy cab into a relativley light cab now due to the Neo magnet. The speaker has a well rounded sound and much more xmas than the previous speaker. Very satisfied!

4Good driver
By Hollow Grind
Driver sounds good, much better than the Delta 15-A it replaced. Deeper and more detailed low end with an increase in sensitivity. Why not five stars? Driver came shipped in what looked to be a resealed box, with no spec sheet or warranty info from the Eminence factory, which leads me to wonder if I bought from a gray market seller. Whether I did or not, a good upgrade for my bass cabinet.

5This speaker was unbeatable for the price
By Thermos Johnson
I use this driver in a 3 way bass cabinet called a fEARful designed by a guy known as green boy (you can google him). It consists of the 3015LF, an Eighteen Sound 6" midrange and a 1" Eminence horn. Even the crossover, which is designed specifically for this cab, is over spec'ed and overbuilt. No other bass cabinet I've seen has a crossover this beefy. The theory is that most bass cabinets, aside from being really heavy, color the sound. If you EQ your bass to accommodate the amplifier and speaker, and then send a line out to the PA, your sound will be completely different out in the house. All your carefully crafted tone will be heard only by you. Even your bandmates won't hear it because the typical dispersion of the typical bass cabinet is very narrow. The fEARful was designed to have as full range as a great PA cabinet and very wide dispersion so everyone on stage hears what you do. It's also designed to go truly to 30Hz or below, while most bass cabinets rely on psychoacoustics to fill in the very bottom octave or more. So, this cabinet is designed around this driver and the result is like having a huge hifi cabinet that goes super loud, handles a ton of power and, maybe best of all, weighs under 50 lbs. When I get my tone going through the cabinet, I know that the front of house rig is getting exactly what I want and the engineer just has to bring up my fader and leave the strip flat.I'm done on my search for bass cabinets. Thanks to this driver, my quest is over. The only downside is that it has practically tripled in price over the last year due to the fluctuations in the neodymium market from China. Hopefully that will settle out and the price will come down. This means that the neo 15s by Beyma and others which were always very pricey become reasonable alternatives. However, the fEARful was designed around this driver and I've yet to hear a complete cabinet that comes close.

5Works when nothing else will.
By James Krall
After using this product twice weekly for the past year, I feel pretty qualified to add my two cents worth, especially concerning ease-of-use issues. You see, I live on a small island and most homes have municipally treated water or get theirs from a well. Not me. Unfortuanately, I get raw lake water out of my taps. After hauling water from town every week, I bought a MIOX pen, and while the batteries are expensive, the system I use works great.I disinfect 2 gallons at a time. That means I fill the MIOX pen up with salt and use the 4-liter setting twice. It's for the water that goes into the teapot. For drinking water, I take MIOX treated water and fill a carbon-drip filter pitcher. My water is clearer and cleaner and better tasting than the town water I used to haul. Here's some tricks for getting the MIOX pen to work consistently every time:1. While the instructions that come with the thing tell you to fill the electrolosis chamber to the top, then capping it and shaking it through the screen, I found this to method to work only about 30 percent of the time. Instead, I use the old "finger-over-the-end-of-the-straw" principle:First, I leave the cap MAIN cap ON, unscrew the smaller TOP cap (where one adds salt) and add water to the salt there. I then place my thumb over the top of the now watery salt chamber and shake for a few seconds until the water and salt have had a chance to co-mingle thoroughly. I remove my thumb and unscrew the main cap, letting the salt water flow back down into the red electrolosis chamber. I shake out a few extra drops and hit the button. Works every time. Hope this alternative method helps those of you who struggle with the thing. After a year, I have no regrets save for the cost of the batteries. Still, this thing goes with me when I travel and backpack. It works great. Take two smaller bottles and drink one/disinfect the other. When I backpack, I'm without a carbon filter, which would remove most nasty tastes, and it's true, when properly dosed, one CAN taste a faint chlorine taste. (It's mostly a faint chlorine smell, but one need not beleager that point here.) Nonetheless, the water in my nalgene bottle isn't as neutral as store-bought mineral water. Oh well, I got over it. I never expected it anyway. I did expect to drink purified water and keep myself from getting sick, which I'm pleased to say has been my experience.

4A lot easier than a pump.
By Justin Charles Holt
If you're looking to save weight, this little guy can't be beat. It imparts a bit of a chlorine taste to the water (depending on how strong you make the solution), but it's a lot better than iodine. MSR includes some chlorine testing strips, which seem like a bit of a hassle, but you can forego them (and shorten battery life) by overtreating the water. Interestingly, this device was developed for the US Military, and has been shown to neutralize a lot of biological agents, including VX nerve gas. I'd give it five stars, but the chlorine test and the recommended test strips affected my rating.

4Nice and light
By Jeff Legato
I took this out during the summer of 07 and had a great experience. It took some getting used to but once I figured it out everything went smoothly. Very slight pool water taste/aroma at first sip but diminished after a an hour of so. It does take some planning. Once I set up my camp I treated lots of water at once to have during the day. I would recommend it to my friends. The one that was shipped to me had test strips that were set to expire and the battery was old too. That was a bummer. All in all I am pleased though.

4Super Stove
By M. Ross
I got this stove to replace another MSR stove, the Whisperlite, which burned in house fire years ago and it has turned out to be an excellent stove. Here is a run down on my experience and impressions of the stove:Performance - As with most other decent stoves, this one can boil water quickly, so that's not news. What it does do, however, that many do not is take the flame down to the lowest simmer. This is a great feature if you are doing some serious cooking that requires precise flame control. I've found the flame spread on this stove to be relatively narrow, so it's a good thing you can dial the flame down so as not to completely scorch what you are heating. The stove is extremely stable, with pot supports that can handle larger size pots and pans. It has a self-cleaning jet that has worked flawlessly when using standard white gas, and has been very reliable.Size - It folds up pretty small and it is light enough, but it's still larger in these dimensions than the smallest stoves out there if only by a little. I don't store mine in my cook kit as it won't fit; that's OK by me, though, as there's always something in my pack that I can fit in there to save space.Flexibility - As with the international version of the Whisperlite, this stove can burn different fuels, some with the same jet that uses white gas, and others with the included jet for heavier fuels like kerosene or diesel. This is an nice feature, I think, and makes it valuable component of your disaster preparedness kit in addition to regular camping and backpacking duty.Noise - You've heard it before, and it's a fact with this stove: this puppy is noisy as all get out. Embarrassingly so, sometimes. I've had campers at adjacent sites look over to see what was going on when I cranked my stove up to full blast, and it makes me feel self-conscious sometimes when I'm cooking in the near-dead silence of a remote campsite. Don't use this stove if you want to be able to hear someone or something sneaking up on you, or if the hiss of a gas lantern (mild by comparison) bothers you.Value - This one gives me a bit of pause. I think this is an excellent stove and despite some quirks (namely noise) I really love it. When the excellent Whisperlite can be had for so much less (even the international version) it is hard to justify unless you really, truly need that fine flame control or the security of having something a little more stable than most micro stoves.Other thoughts - If you are only using your stove to boil water for purification or to rehydrate food, then I would go with a less expensive option where you don't need a fine flame control. Generally, I really prefer this kind of stove, with its fuel flexibility, over those that use a propane or propane/butane canister. I like the thought of being able to use gasoline or diesel in an emergency situation if I needed to. And, while I have had very good luck with canisters using my Gaz 470 (that I absolutely LOVE and still use on a regular basis) I wouldn't want that to be my only camp stove.Be sure to use the heat shield and windscreen that come with this stove to protect the pump and fuel bottle; their use should not be considered an option. The stove is easy to prime using priming paste or a squirt of fuel let through the valve once you have pressurized the bottle. The stove comes complete with pump and basic tools to clean and/or change the jet, heat shield and wind screen, as well as a usable stuff sack.

5Great Stove
By N. Moloney
I used this stove this past week for the first time and it was great. I went backpacking for a whole week, and another group with us had the whisperlite, and the dragonfly was obviously so much easier to use than the whisperlite. It's heat is so much more adjustable, and therefore uses much less gas than most other stoves. Also, the stand is much easier to use, causing far less spills and more stability than the whisperlite. It heats water much faster and is more user-friendly. I definately recommend it!

4loud but verssatile
By C. Boylan
As mentioned, this stove is loud, extremely loud, at any setting. It has a very wide range - you can simmer without scorching thick stews or boil 4L of water in no time flat. Be aware however, that it can melt a hole in the wind screen or heat defuser just as easily. Or scorch the bottom of your pots about as fast - I've two to clean up at the moment.Find the absolute lowest simmer setting right out of the box - you'll want to use it most of the time. When it's time to boil water crank it up loud. It's a fuel miser compared to the WhisperLite. The flexible hose is still short, stiff and stupid like other MSR stoves.Stuff sack is too small for what we travel with.

5Eminence Lil Buddy 10 Speaker-killer harp amp speaker
By Paul M. Toscano
Based upon some information obtained within the harp community, I put this baby into a VHT Special 6, also tube modified. The end result was a rip snortin' little harp amp for about $300.00. I expect that putting one of these speakers into any harp amp needing a new speaker would result in some killer tone .

4Emi Governor AND Lil Buddy too
By kay bhee
Eminence Governor and Lil Buddy GTR spkrs.hello musicians...i address this review to those who CAN hearsmall differences, and who Dare to try different things...today, we took the epiphone Dot studio geetar, withthe tiny vox ac4tv mini Tubes amp...to test outaround 15 different eminence speakers !the above is based on the sweet, bloom sound ofEL 84 tube... and that is what we aimed to get...a bit MORE than the internal 6 inch speaker, which is, actually, quite nice on its own too !but on the Backside, i saw a speaker connectionfor 16 ohms...mmmmconclusion first...I chose the Governor, AND the Lil Buddy.yes, a red and a blue...!we are gonna make 2 separate boxes, and allowseries connection so they add up to 16 ohms...OR, be played individually at 8 ohms..there is Quite a difference between the above 2spkrs in sound, however, surprisingly, whenConnected Together in seriesand played back with the above equipment IN CLEANMODE, the sounds are simply AMAZINGLY accurateand Dream like ! can put one in a trance !so, GO ahead, and try out various eminence and otherspkrs combinations too ... u will be surprised !the next bests, which i liked for the slow slowjazzy type , are :private jacktonespotterso, ,there you have itone man's test results in a compressed form !thanks for reading andalways have fun or Joy !k

5Instant tone improvement
By CHUS01 Fan
I put this in a Fender Champion 110 (25 watt, solid state) amp.Long story short: huge difference. The sound is exactly as advertised: smooth and full. It's louder than the old speaker, but the highs are not piercing at all. It's much less fatiguing to listen to, and almost invites you to try to listen carefully. The clean channel sounds great, and the drive channel, which I never much cared for, now sounds a lot better too.The speaker is well-built, was packaged nicely, and was easy to install despite the magnet part being a little bigger than the old one. It feels like it weighs twice as much. I had to turn it about 45 degrees counterclockwise because the amp's wires were otherwise too short to reach it. No difference except you have to turn your head to read the label.

5Terrific value
By Daniel B. Brawner
When the 15-inch Black Widow speaker blew out of my Peavey KB 300, I chose to replace it with the Eminence KAPPA-15 and I am very impressed with the results. It handles bass, guitar and even drums with ease and clarity. For the money, you can't beat it.
