Just what I was looking for.

I was looking for a solid shoe that looks professional. These came at a very reasonable price and have a very sturdy feel and are very comfortable. I work in a machine shop where I require the steel toe protection. This is the second pair of CAT work boots. my first pair lasted 8 years. I know that sounds ridiculous; however I assure you it is a fact and I was sad to part with them.

Comfortable, but could be more durable

Very comfortable, but after 2 months the rubber toe cap started to separate from the leather upper where the shoe flexes. I continued to wear them for almost 1 1/2 years until they fell apart -steel toe was visible through the sides and the sole was coming apart in chunks at the toe and heel. They were comfortable for most of the 1 1/2 years, but then the inside quickly went from comfortable to painful. I work in a warehouse and these shoes saw alot of abuse and held up well. I would give 5 stars, but the initial split of the toe cap from the upper was totally the shoe's fault and ultimately led to it's failure.

Yes, they are heavy, but they are solid shoes. Have taken a beating in the last month and are doing well.
