Fender SKB Molded Standard Dreadnought Case Review

I had purchased a Fender Villager 12-String Acoustic and discovered afterward that finding a case or gigbag to fit would be a challenge because of the unusually long headstock. I read in a blog that this case might be an option, so I ordered it. I had to remove the molded interior, fold back the cloth material at both ends, then make cuts at both ends to allow the guitar to fit in the case. I used contact cement to glue the material and the bottom of the molded interior back in place. The end result is that I now have a case that looks like it was made for this guitar. Under the circumstances it was the best and most economical solution.

I bought this case on the recommendation of Fender for my new Fender Villager 12-string. Its headstock is rather long even for a 12-string, and other cases I tried were too short for the neck/headstock.After receiving the case, I tried my Villager in it. It fits -- just. It's a bit of a squeeze but nothing that's going to hurt the instrument. So, it should fit most dreadnought 6 and 12 string guitars.The storage compartment is large enough for what I carry in a case (picks, strings, etc.)There are a couple of issues with the case, both minor but annoying. The lid wants to fall closed when I open it. Also, I'm not a fan of the latches. They work but aren't as smooth/nice as other cases I've used. It's secure, so I'm not worried about it.It mostly stays in my house as a container for my guitar. I doubt I'd use this as a serious road case for a pro musician (I'm not one). That said, I have traveled with it by car and it was fine.
