4You'll need to trim...
By billzcat1
Here's everything you need to know about the Warn Front Receiver hitch for WJ Grand Cherokee. For one, it fits 1999-2004 vehicles, but Warn developed this product in 2002 and never updated the description. So if you have a 2003 or 2004, yes it will fit!Trimming your front bumper is absolutely required to fit this front hitch. The lower 7-slat design hits it and the front fascia will not go all the way back on without trimming out the backside. Also, the location of the hitch pin interferes with the slats so the middle two have to be cut out entirely. Don't purchase this unless you are OK with some trimming because there is NO way to make it work without trimming. Now, if you are into wheeling and Jeeping, you'll know that some of this is expected. I'm ok with it. It's very easy to trim and still make your Jeep look good. If you have a 2004, then you are in-luck as you have a different front fascia that is more open and does not require trimming. You will also need to do some drilling. One of the frame holes needs to be enlarged to 7/16" so that the fasteners can pass through. The directions are not clear at this point and I drilled out the wrong hole. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has done this. As a tip: do not drill out any hole that has a nut welded in it. These are the mounting holes for the front skid plate.Which brings me to another point - if you have the factory tow hook package up front, you have to remove them to install this hitch. That's ok because you gain a much stronger recovery point and you can sell the tow hooks to another Jeep enthusiast for $60-70. You also have to remove the OEM front skid plate (if you have it). This hitch will hit the front skid and the holes don't line up...so it is one or the other. The good news is that the front skid doesn't really protect much and is up so high you will probably never hit it on the trail. You can make it work together by welding new tabs to the front skid plate. So there's all the bad stuff out of the way. Most of it is pretty minor but you deserve to know what to expect. The good stuff:This hitch is beefy, made from 1/4" plate steel and powdercoated black. The powdercoating is high-quality and does not chip or scratch easily like some do. The hitch does not stick out very far (it is shorter than the license plate) so you don't have something sticking out of the front, ruining the lines of your beautiful WJ. It positions a multi-mount winch perfectly, just a few inches in front of the license plate. It's at a very good height to make installing a multi-mount winch by yourself easier (they are very heavy). As a bonus, it adds vital protection to the bottom of your radiator and A/C condenser which are surprisingly vulnerable. In this way, it is MORE useful than the front skid plate (which only really protects the sway bar)All in all, I give it 4 stars because of its strength, versatility, looks, performance, and protective ability. The only thing holding back a 5-star is the amount of trimming required and that the hitch pin hole is absolutely inaccessible without cutting out the middle slats of the front bumper.

5Great Product
By Ethan
This product is great. The shipping was free, it came a day early, easy to install, and included directions. I'm only 16 and it took me, and about 10 minutes of my dad's time, about 2 1/2 hours to install and that includes a trip to town for a new drill bit. Hardest part was drilling to resize the hole. I had planned on taking off my grille-guard, installing the hitch, then reinstalling the grille-guard. However, it does not work with the grille-guard mounting brackets! I will be welding the mounts onto the hitch though. Only thing I have left to do is wire up the winch and give it a go this weekend. Once installed you will have to trim some plastic here and there, but nothing too bad. It's a great product and I highly recommend it.

5Jeep Grand Cherokee Front Receiver 99-04
By cabanachos808
Even though the listing shares 99-02, it'll still fit 03-04 styles. They states this because the 03-04 styles, you need to cut the slots off in your front bumper.I have an 03. I ended up halving my bumper for a better and more aggressive look. This receiver is very well built, and easy to install. You will need a 7/16" drill bit to enlarge 2 holes that are already there on the unibody. The product weighs around 30 pounds at most.
