Great hat! Warm at highway speeds on a Harley!

This hat does the job. It is not only warm, it's also very comfortable. I use it mainly for cold weather Harley riding. I commute 50 miles, and this hat is warmer than a helmet. I won't park the bike until snow/salt make the drive impossible.... and then the hat will move over to my truck.

This is a very high quality item. The leather is soft and smooth and the rabbit fur (which Hartford York customer service told me is sheared from farm-raised rabbits that are actually French, not just a breed with the word French in it's name, as so many animal breeds are misnamed -- how a rabbit's nationality is determined I don't know; maybe they test it's reaction to various French phrases like "potage de lapin") is simply wonderful. If you need fur softer and warmer than this, you should probably invest in genetic research so that one day you can grow your own.I've heard that this type of thing will shed a little bit, but it's not noticeable to me yet.Note that the goggles pictured with this hat do not come standard with the hat, as I type this 4-Mar-2008, but the forehead flap/brim is not too tall, unlike many such hats, so I actually like it better without the goggles. (Also note that you can find the goggles much cheaper than the Hartford-York separately-sold ones pictured here, but the really cheap ones will be a hat-ornament only and not really wearable, looking fairly identical but lacking any sort of hard plastic or rubber backbone. Judging by the quality of this item, I would assume the Hartford-York goggles to be much more substantive.)The one draw-back to this hat is finding something to wear it with. Most leather jackets/coats are designed to be sharp or slick and aren't puffy enough for this hat. Also, this is a very unusual item, and not everyone can wear it without looking foolish.

The cap is great, keeps head, ears warm during snow blowing, the goggles are very cheap
