lag screws great

I have used these screws for several years and they are great for deck post and numberous other applications where you need force to straighten beams or to attach beams overhead. They have worked great. I have used several different lenghts for different applications. Have always been pleased.

Good Screw, Could Be Better...

This is a good price on timber screws, and they're strong... I'm screwing them into oak railroad ties after piloting with a 12" x 3/16" bit. The included driver is decent quality. I've installed about 70 to 100 of them so far without any breakage or stripped heads.There is room for improvement... the points are not self tapping, but just a standard wood screw thread. It'd have been great (five star) had they made the perpendicular cutout on one side of the thread tip to allow for cutting its way into the wood. But, alas, you'll likely need to pilot your holes beforehand.Nevertheless, I'd buy these again for the price.

I created a raised planter bed, and wanted to secure the landscape timbers with something more substantial than nails. These are great because they come with the driver to install them, bite into treated lumber easily, and counter sink themselves below the wood surface easily.
