Great first pair of hiking shoes

I bought these shoes a couple of weeks before doing the Inca Trail in Peru. I normally wear a size 16 (medium to wide), but from owning another pair of Timberlands I knew that the fit is very generous and went for a 15 M. I got lucky and the shoes fit perfectly. I'm not much of a hiker, and these were my first pair of hiking shoes, but all I know is that these shoes survived the 44km trail over 4 days without any problems, and probably saved me from rolling my ankle on at least one occasion on the slippery downhill steps.
