Reese 26002 Dual Cam Sway Control

This is an EXCELLENT product. When my wife and I first bought our camper a year ago, I asked the dealer about sway control. He said it was an individual preference and to try it out first and see how it pulled and then decide if I wanted to spend the extra money or not. Well, I did just that. We pulled it about six times the first year around to different campgrounds and I really didn`t notice too much sway, so I decided not to purchase anything. Then on our first outing this year, we got into a cross-wind and I was having second thoughts. Then as I slowed down to try to control the sway, which did help some, the semi-trucks started passing me because they were going faster and then I REALLY noticed the sway. I went back to my camper dealer the very next day and asked for his recommendation. He showed me the Friction Sway Control and how it worked, and then he showed me the Reese Dual Cam Sway Control. I asked him if he was buying, which one would he buy. He said without a doubt, the Reese Dual Cam Sway Control. He said even though it was a bit pricey, about 4 times as much, there was no comparison. What this product does is stop trailer sway before it begins, whereas the Friction Control tries to correct trailer sway after it has started.After buying and installing, which as the other reviewers noted, requires some drilling and is a little time consuming, but well worth it, we took another trip about 280 miles away. We had a strong cross-wind going up, but the Reese Dual Cam Sway Control was everything I had hoped it would be, allowing me to drive the speed limit on the Interstate and not have to fight the wheel and feel like the camper was controlling me. It was without a doubt, the best purchase I have ever made for my camping experience. I highly recommend it. It should be noted that this also requires you to use the spring bars from your weight distribution system that would normally come with your camper. Also, this product allows you to back up into parking spots, whereas the Friction Control type recommends you disconnect it before backing.

An excellent sway control. I used a friction sway control for years and now wish I had been using the dual cam sway control. I could immediately feel the improvement in trailer control and trucks have much less effect when they pass. Takes some mechanical ability to install. Requires a large flat area (parking lot) and drilling 4 holes.

had to drill 2 holes on eithe side of my a frame to mount. took around a day but it works no problems. need to loosen and then retighten the nuts cuz its shipped backwards to fit into the small shipping crate.
