Calibrate with the bundled software!

This is undoubtedly a great buy if you bought it on Black Friday. No DVI is "no big deal." If there were any difference on the image quantity at all, it is extremely slight and very difficult to detect. The brightness of the monitor is its strength and can be adjusted with ease. Have you looked into the CD? Use the two fantastic bundled software Magic Tune and Natural Color to calibrate the monitor. Natural Color even allows you to adjust the printer color to coincide with the monitor color. I've created several personal settings to suit my taste, the time of day I'm using the monitor and the type of activities I'm doing. There are also many other presets available in the software for adjusting the monitor. They are so easy to use that it's a no-brainer. If your fonts look washed out, it's probably because you haven't adjusted the font size going from a smaller monitor to a 19" LCD. You might want to go into control panel/display/ to change to a different size font. Chose "effect" to smooth out the fonts. While you're there, go to "advance" to increase the icon spacing, vertical and horizontal. The DVD movies look fantastic with this LCD. This is a keeper. I had no intention of buying this monitor previously but I am glad I did.

Very nice for the price

I just picked this up to replace my 17 inch CRT. This is a very nice monitor for the price and it comes with a 3 year warranty. After rebates the total cost was around $229 so not bad at all.Like other reviews, when I first powered up the monitor my eyes started to hurt due to the brightness. I tried to adjust several times and it helped but still was a little too bright. If you turned the brightness down to much then white web page backgrounds looked a little blue.I took the advice of another reviewer and installed the two programs on the included cd. The one that helped the most is MagicTune. You can adjust the monitors settings from the software and it has recommended settings based on what you use the pc the most for. I picked the internet setting as that is what I was having the most problems with in regards to the brightness. After that adjustment the monitor seems much better and my eyes don't hurt anymore.If you are looking or a nice 19 inch but don't need very fast refresh rates for gamming than this monitor is a good buy. Check around and see if you can find a good deal. If not then there might be better monitors out there for the regular offered price.

I bought this beauty at Circuit City for $199 the Friday after Thanksgiving and I love it. The crisp, clear images are incredible as well as the space saving design vs my old boat anchor 17" CRT. Buy one & you'll be happy too....
