I recently removed the cap from my Chevy S10 for the first time to make the bed more available for hauling during the summer months. Since I normally have a few things in the back of the truck and had to transfer them to the space behind the seats the cab got noticeably crowded. I have always avoided covers like this because of the problems created by the attachments. I have seen the type that use snaps to hold the cover in place and noticed that after a short time the snaps had been pulled through the fabric or the base had been pulled from the truck itself. I have seen covers that zip into place or have to be stretched and drawn over hooks drilled into the outside of the truck box. Neither method seems reliable or durable and the end result is an ugly, loose cover and rust stains on the truck body from the snaps and zippers.This cover uses hook and loop fabric to hold it in place and it works very well. Since I installed the cover the truck has been through several bad windstorms and through the car wash several times with no problems at all. Water leaks in around my tailgate but the cover keeps everything else dry.As advertised the Truxport cover was a quick install and took me only 20 or 30 minutes.There are many things to like about the cover. The crossbars are integrated into the tarp and simply roll up with the top when I need the bed open. I have a dry place to haul my groceries and still be able to carry a washer or dryer if need be. Since the installation only required the included clamps I can still remove the entire thing in a matter of minutes and put the cap back on in the event I need more dry cargo space in the winter months and then just as quickly switch back to the Truxport Tonneau though I can't see many times when I would need the cap.My truck is 12 years old and in good shape but the cover has given it a newer "younger" look which I really like. Since buying the Truxport cover I have even started considering some cosmetic work and fresh paint.I haven't calculated my gas mileage yet to compare it against the mileage with the cap but I can say there is a noticeable difference in performance. Because the truck only has a 2.2 liter engine shedding the 100+ pound cap caused the hill climbing power to increase and installing the cover reduced the drag caused by the open truck bed.I am very happy with the cover in all aspects so far. Even though there was a minor problem because the Tonneau I needed was out of stock the cover still arrived at my home a day before the original delivery date.I highly recommend this product to anyone wanting to dress up their truck while keeping it fully functional.Update: My Chevy finally reached the point of needing to be replaced. It had more problems than I wanted to repair and the 60 mile a day commute was wearing on it. The Tonneau cover was still in great condition as of September 2012. In fact I hated to see it go with the truck. The replacement truck didn't come equipped with a Toneau cover. I've done some shopping around to see what kind of cover I want for it and once again have decided on the same kind of cover again.Just as a side note, my fuel mileage did improve with the cover in place. On average my mpg improved by 1-2.
