Great Cover!

I bought this cover for my 2002 Ford truck. It arrived right before the first snow in western Michigan. I installed it in less than an hour. Very simple. One of the best features with this cover is that it is usable even in extreme cold weather. The first time that I needed to roll it up was after a heavy wet snow had frozen on it. After breaking up the ice, the cover rolled up as if it had been sitting out on a warm summer day. It then returned to the closed position with the same ease. The only issue that I have had is there is one spot where I have been unable to get it to stretch tight. Not bad though, most people wouldn't even notice. Great product overall!

I bought this cover mainly because I wanted the ability to use the full bed of my truck at times (without having someone else to help me remove a shell or other cover, this you can easily roll up by yourself) and still have a cover for it that looked good, also the price point, about half the price of a hard top cover.This cover looks great, and I thought the materials were well made.My main complaints are the install and directions. Yikes, talk about jibberish. First off it says on front cover tools required, 1/2" inch socket. Well that doesn't work, I jammed my 1/2 inch socket, You need a 12mm socket. Once I did that, no problems.Also, I did think the materials in the kit were well made but all the metal edges are right off the cutting machine, they don't smooth any edges for you so the rails on this kit and the header have extremely sharp edges. I sliced my thumb pretty good attaching the header to the side rails, because you do have to apply pressure to snap the two together and one slip and your hands are headed for sharp, jagged edges!Also I was left with a quarter inch gap at the head of the truck bed. Come to find out that there is a seal that was not included with my kit. I called Truxport and they are sending me one. The directions make no mention of this seal. I found it on an on line video of an install of one of their other models of bed covers. Of course this is the first item that needs to be installed, so I will need to disassemble the cover completely to install it.#8 on the directions say, "center side rails on pickup bed" this is true, you will need to that, however what they don't tell you is that you need to unroll the cover and see if the end of the cover lines up with the rails. It says leave 1/8" gap, not on mine, it's no gap, all the way to the edge or else when you unroll the cover there will be too much play where the cover attaches, and you will have to undo the next 4 steps to adjust it.#12d I still cannot figure out what they mean. "Secure loop to hook fasteners on one side rail by pressing edge of cover along full length of rail" ?????????? Still don't know what that means. My cover looks and functions fine. I'm sure I will figure out their intent in the coming weeks when using it.I could have written a much better install manual, that would have saved a few curse words, a bloody thumb, and a couple of hours.Trying to decide if I am happy now because the cover looks and functions great or because the install is over.

Great cover - easy to install & use

Bought this product for my 2002 F-150. It was extremely easy to install - did it myself in about an hour. The really nice thing about this cover is that the support bars are attached to the cover instead of to the bed of the truck. This makes it easy to take on and off to use the bed. You just roll it up towards the cab of the truck and secure it with the straps. You don't have to fuss with moving support bars that are attached to the bed, so it's easy to roll it up partway when you've got something small but taller than the bed (like taking trash cans somewhere), and roll it back down quickly when you're done.My only issues with it are minor -1. The securing straps at the cab have a tendency to slip inbetween the bed of the truck and the cab making them difficult to get out to secure the rolled-up cover' So, I keep a screwdriver in the car to reach down & pull them up.2. The release latches are difficult to use. They take a lot of pressure to release the cover, and you're already at an awkward angle to get the right amount of pressure on it. Now, the tension is adjustable, so you could make it easier to release, but I'm a little paranoid about it coming loose, so I don't adjust the tension, just adjust the way I open it. Basically, that screwdriver gets used again to push up against the latch to release the cover.The two issues I have personally with the cover are so minor that they don't downgrade my review at all. All in all, it's a great product.
