Works Great!

I bought this to put in my basement sump pump basin to monitor high water level resulting in a pump failure, and I wanted to tie into my home monitoring/alarm service. Works great! Incredibly easy to install. Just two tips. 1) you need to buy the power supply to have it function in this setup and the power supply does NOT come with this unit -- sold separately, 2) I found I had to install a 1 ohm resistor between the two "S" ports on this unit, basically sticking one end of the 1 ohm resistor into one "S" port along with one of the water detector leads and sticking the other end of the resistor into the other "S" port along with the other water detector leads. My alarm/monitoring unit is then wired to the "C" and "NO" ports on this unit. Works like a charm. Now my monitoring service will call my mobile whenever it detects high water just as it would call me if there is an intrusion. My monitoring service knows this "alarm" notice is water so it tells me that its detected a "water bug" alarm vs an intrusion, etc. Great unit! Highly recommended!

Great Little Unit

Installed this unit on a rental property with a well pump. Wired a second unit in parallel for the hot water heater in the utility room. The controller is then wired through a pump controller to disable the pump if it senses water on the floor from a leak. Works great and easy to install and test.

Good as an exact replacement

I purchased this as an exact replacement for an existing Waterbug Water Sensor.I will not comment on the Waterbug's effectiveness compared with competing products because I do not know about other water sensors.The Waterbug Water Sensor that I replaced operated properly for six (6) years.
