Good Finish, Good Fit, Nice Traction

This running board was just what I was looking for. Fit my new Silverado perfectly. Install took about an hour and a half. The satin aluminum finish looks great with my silver truck and the rubber insert provides good traction -- continuous from front to rear. Includes a vinyl trim strip to close of the gap between the extrusion and the truck body, so it helps keep the truck sides clean too. Amazon sent it quickly, freight free, arrived in three days. Must order the appropriate mounting brackets -- and they fit the truck with a no-drill easy install. Would recommend if you want a continuous running board with good styling.

westin running boards

The Westin 27-6130 running board appears to be a well made quality product.It would have been perfect if the slots where you insert the square head bolts had been just 1/2 to 1 inch longer.Being the length that they were made the installation procedure much more difficult than it would have been.I did receive my order in a timely fashion.It arrived a day before the estimated date of the shipment.

It took a long time to figure out which of the mounting kits we required to install these on our 2500 HD. Once we figured that part out, installing the running boards was fairly easy. There was a series of holes to drill which use a bolt and nut to mount each bracket to the truck, and then more self tapping bolts went on to hold the brackets securely to the truck. The running boards then slide on another set of bolts that hold the running boards to the brackets. Pretty easy install, as long as you are comfortable drilling the initial one hole per bracket into the side of the vehicle to get each one started.We really like the wide stepping platform, which is big enough to safely step on. This unit replaces at set or rounded bars which were all chromed with a smaller plastic step spot - if we were not careful to step exactly on the plastic step, the chrome bar was very slippery and dangerous. Over time the plastic pads came loose and stepping up into the truck became a riskier proposition. These running boards seem much better for what we need.
