Stainless Steel 5" HBT Shank with Sweet Iron Comfort Snaffle (MB 03) Copper Inlay Mouth. This mouthpiece is made of polished Sweet Iron which naturally oxidizes. About the mouthpiece: the 03 mouthpiece is the Myler alternative to the traditional three-piece mouthpiece commonly used in snaffle bits. When the reins are engaged, the 03 will rotate fully on to the tongue in order to apply the necessary tongue pressure to teach a horse to give to the bit or break at the poll. The bars of the bit are curved so the bit wraps the bars and lips of the horse’s mouth instead of pinching them when it rotates on to the tongue. The curve makes more room for the horse’s tongue under the bit. The barrel in the center is the same width as the center piece on a traditional three-piece mouthpiece so applies approximately the same pressure on the tongue. However, the barrel distributes the pressure more kindly than the traditional centerpiece and also creates the Independent Side Movement . The 03 is identical to the 02 except for a copper roller on the center barrel which can comfort horses that are restless or nervous. For more tongue relief, step up to the 04. No better bit

I've had this bit for twelve years, and no matter how many horses I've ridden, of how many bits I've tried, this is the best curb bit hands down. Everyone's happy and responsive in it. You can't go wrong with Myler quality.

MYLER Bits are BOSS--my horses like it

The way the bits are made are unique, fits right into the horse's mouse. There may be other bits as good, but Myler Bits are good quality bits, and they have about any kind you could want. I wasted a lot of money buying other kinds of 'cheap' bits, enough to buy another Myler, which would have been a better idea.
