Low maintenance & very comfortable

I got this swing this past summer and am very glad I decided on this one instead of any of the others available. I looked at some of the metal swings but didn't want to be pulling cushions off every time it might rain so ruled those out. This swing needs no cushions. I was looking for something low maintenance, and this is it. There's nothing on this swing that's going to rust. The angle of the back and seat make it very comfortable to sit on for more than just a few minutes. You're leaning slightly back while seated and have plenty of back support. The seat is contoured, not just an uncomfortable flat bench seat. The front of the seat is curved so there are no boards poking you in the back of your legs. The cedar looks nice as it gradually weathers, and it doesn't need paint or stain unless that's the look you want.Overall, this is a great patio or yard swing and it seems it will be durable and last a long time. As usual, it's worth the extra $$ to buy quality.

Great swing!

The A-Frame was much easier to assemble than I thought. All the parts were included and the wood was in excellent shape. I had to re-drill one of the holes on the swing arms, it was slightly angled, but after that, everything went together just great! The kids love it.

This a nice sized swing that easily seats two adults and two kids. Assembly was not too hard, however you will need a few tools: hammer, screw driver or power drill, measuring tape, and racheting socket wrench. A rubber mallet also helps, but you can use a hammer and a block of wood. It took us about three hours spread over two days, but the kids helped, so that slowed us down. The really nice thing about this swing was that it went together the way the instructions said it would, and there was only one small step that wasn't clear. At a certain point, the instructions tell you to put screws in "perpendicular to the dowels"--but there is no illustration to show where to put the screws. In the end, we figured it out, and I am sure anyone who is the least bit handy could figure it out, too.Compared to the previous wooden bench swing we had, there is one clear design difference. The cross braces you see on the front and back of the swing (not the pieces that create the "A", but the corner braces), will prevent the swing from swinging wildly. The bars the bench hang from bang into the corner braces on big swings, so if you are looking for a swooping, high-in-the-sky ride, this isn't won't do it, and you will want to tell kids to keep the swinging low. Considering the weight of the bench, keeping the swinging controlled is probably wise anyway.The workmanship appears solid, and the wood is quite smooth, so we are all pleased with how it turned out.
