Great casual shoe: comfortable and solid built.

I have had a pair of Dr. Marteens boots for about 11 years and I love them. I've gone camping and hiking with them, and just used them in all sort of conditions and never had a complaint about them. They are comfortable and strong. By far the cheapest shoes I've ever had (about $9.00 / year).I needed new shoes (not boots) and thought of buying again Dr. Marteens but they are hard to find in brick-and-mortar stores. I guess they are not the latest fashion anymore, but who cares?So I ended up buying them at amazon.com. This is my first pair of on-line shoes and I was a bit worried that they wouldn't fit or that they wouldn't be as comfortable as my good'ol boots. But no, they fit perfectly, look great, and I'am enjoying my third week with them. I use them for everything: work, home and even church. I was also worried about the seam in the middle of the shoe but I don't feel it, and the natural bend on the shoe when you walk is not distorted in any way because of this seam. Maybe this was obvious to you but I have never had a shoe with a seam in the middle :) .They seem to have the same good craftmanship as my old boots and feel very sturdy, but the leather is very soft and the fit is just a bit loose (the way I like it) so they feel like nothing, even though they are heavier than most shoes. I think they are going to serve me for a long time.Note: the second picture in this page is a bit misleading. The shoes are not bent like that. I think it was just the way the picture was taken.

I have worn dr.martens for a long time now and these shoes are the most comfortable and best looking oxford,i have ever worn..dressed up or down these shoes work for any occasion. signed mary

These shoes are awesome! They offer excellent arch support with a comfortable fit from the moment I put them on. My previous pair of Dr. Martens lasted for several years with daily wear. I expect no less from these. The soles are built to last and last. In wet conditions I feel totally secure with no fear of slipping. The style speaks for itself. Rugged yet sophisticated good looks. They are the "craftsmen style" of shoes. Be careful to order the proper size as they are sized as U.K.My only disappointment... I was shipped the wrong color! I kept them anyway.
